Iron-on Instructions

Ready to add your new patch to your bag, jacket or cap?

These instructions will get you there.

1. Clean and iron the item that will receive your patch (no fabric softener)

Don't iron your patch to materials that will easily melt or have been treated with a water-resistant coating.

2. Set iron to medium setting
3. Turn off the steam function
4. Place the patch face-up on the item
5. Cover your patch with piece of thin cotton fabric or cloth
6. Hold the hot iron down firmly over your patch for 8-10 seconds.
7. Allow patch to cool for 3 minutes
8. If possible, turn the item over and hold the iron firmly on the back of the patch for 5-7 seconds.  This will draw the glue into the item fabric.

Full adhesion takes up to 48 hours, so try to avoid the temptation to test the edges of the patch.  This will break the adhesion, and cause failure.

Some materials won't take the iron-on adhesive well.  We have tried to find the best adhesive available, but sometimes it just doesn't work.  If your patch doesn't stick, or if the item is to be washed or used frequently (like a backpack or ball cap), sewing is highly recommended.

A sewn-on patch will last through much more wear and tear over time
